MSA Forward 2018 is headed to Washington, DC in 2018.  From April 26 to 30, MSA will bring together hundreds of vendors and buyers to learn, network and discover products perfect for your customers.

Our three-day, information-filled conference sessions provide the knowledge to help the way you run your store the most effective. Each conference session is designed to help nonprofit retailers be successful. The MSA Forward 2018 theme is “Mastering Non-Profit Retail”.

The Museum Store Association is pleased to offer an extensive excursion schedule for the 2018 MSA Conference and Expo. Capitalizing on our location in Washington DC, these excursions will allow you, for a very small additional fee, to visit some of the premier institutions and museum stores in the area while networking with colleagues from around the country. During the Educational Learning Excursions, join fellow MSA members and colleagues on Thursday, Friday and Monday to explore a selection of Washington DC’s must-see attractions.

All excursions are anticipated to sell out. Sign up early. Registration will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis. In the event of heavy demand, a waiting list will be established and additional busses added where appropriate. If demand does not meet expectation on any particular excursion, MSA reserves the right to cancel that excursion and refund your excursion fee.

The MSA Knowledge Standards highlight the core knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the daily responsibilities of a nonprofit retail professional. Knowledge Standards are the basis for all of MSA’s learning initiatives, including the Breakout Sessions offered exclusively at the the annual Museum Store Association Conference.

The focus will be on the subjective factors and relevant metrics related to the generation of gross revenue, managing expenses that lead to the maximization of profitability, aspects of the store’s impact on the visitor experience and general management fundamentals. The emphasis will be on how you can ‘own’ the process through planning and evaluation. The seminar is aimed at new managers, managers new to cultural commerce and as a refresher course for others.
