RECOGNITION AWARDS
The 2023 MSA Recognition Awards acknowledge the essential role that nonprofit retail professionals and museum store vendors play in the success of cultural institutions. The awards provide MSA members with an opportunity to be recognized, and awarded, for the extraordinary work they do. This award recognizes excellence in visual merchandising by an institution. Nominations were evaluated based on the creative use of resources, collaboration, and how well the display extends the museum experience.
Best Product Development
Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens
The Best Product Development Award recognizes excellence in product development by an institution. Nominations were evaluated based on the fulfillment of the institution’s mission, achieved sales goal, collaboration and marketing efforts.
Best Store Web Presence
Skirball Cultural Center / Audrey’s Museum Store
Recognizing excellence in web presence by an institution. Nominations were evaluated based on collaboration, innovation, customer-need orientation and responsiveness, quality, and service.
Best Advertising or Marketing
The Historic New Orleans Collection
This award recognizes excellence in a marketing activity that showcased a museum store, brand, special event, or product for an MSA member. Nominations were evaluated based on campaign creativity and innovation.
Museum Store Sunday Special Event at an Institution
The Historic New Orleans Collection
This award recognizes excellence in a Museum Store Sunday special event at an institution. Nominations were evaluated based on creative elements used, how Museum Store Sunday mission/event focused the store or event is, any Museum Store Sunday collateral used, and its marketing plan.
Best Pop-Up Store or Store Special Event
Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens
Recognizing excellence in a pop-up store or store special event at an institution. Nominations were evaluated based on creative elements used, how mission/event-focused the store or event is, any increase in sales, and its marketing plan.
MSA Vendor of the Year
Steve Santangelo, Popcorn Custom Products
The Vendor of the Year recognition is awarded to a vendor who collaborates, works with, and supports the MSA. Nominations were evaluated based on collaboration, innovation, customer orientation, quality, and service.
